Notice: Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to Hire an Architect
The Newcomerstown Public Library intends to contract for professional services of architectural services in connection with renovations of its Library building located at 123 East Main Street, Newcomerstown, OH, 43832. The scope of services includes the preparation of schematic drawings and construction documents for bidding. The renovation will involve a plan to update, renovate, alter, replace, rework and add to portions of the library with the goals to increase the space available for the public and to create vibrant spaces that support user-centered programs, technologies, services and workflow, as well as direct access to the Library’s extensive resources and exceptional service. There will be emphasis on maximizing access to materials, interactive youth spaces, public meeting spaces, public restrooms, easily browse able collections, and functional staff work and storage spaces. The project will include updates to wiring, lighting, plumbing, HVAC and doors as necessary and may include updates to windows and outside green space as determined necessary. The plan must meet ADA requirements. The selection criteria will be based on: project interest and understanding; firm’s history; education and experience of owner and key personnel; related project experience; reference checks and/or past performance.
